White willow buds
- Action related to the central nervous system (sedative and balancing)
- Increases the RBC and potentiates the action of other antianemic remedies
This tree with lunar symbol is naturally related to the water element as much on the physical level as on the symbolic level. It is associated to cold and humidity and by analogy will heal diseases caused by an excess of the elementary properties of water. Willows contain salicine which, by hydrolysis, breaks down into saligenine. It produces salicilic acid by oxidation, a natural molecule with well known analgesic and antirheumatic properties, precursor of aspirin (acide acetylsalicylic) synthesis molecule with well known side effects. Phytotherapy utilizes the bark and the leaves. Traditionally utilized for fever, it was mainly studied by Pitera.
Action related to the central nervous system (sedative and balancing). Useful for insomnia, hysteria, digestive problems from nervous origin (dyspepsia, biliary colics, nervous gastritis), anxiety, various neuro-sexual problems (priapism, genital erethism, libido, nymphomania – in association with catkins).
It increases the production of red blood cells and potentiates the action of other antianemic remedies such as Tamarix gallica.
